WHO’S WHO

MANAGEMENT

Anton Krašovec, owner and director

With numerous years of experience on foreign markets in the fields of marketing and management of organizations and the desire for advancement of business in multi-cultural environments, Mr. Krašovec established the Alkemist Translation Agency.
As the founder of Alkemist, he devotes his attention to promoting the companys international image and to the planning of business strategies and expansion into new markets.

Saša Gorše, Office Manager

Already during her studies at the College of Entrepreneurship (Gea College), Ms. Gorše met with a variety of languages and cultures.
Her studies at Scuola Aministrazione Aziendale, Torino, Italy and Joenkoeping International Business School in Sweden not only added new language skills to her portfolio of experience, but also allowed her an in-depth view into the international cultural environment of business. Her initial working experience came as a translator for business meetings and organiser of the conference Slovenia and Sweden in Sweden and participation at various events in Slovenia, such as project coordinator for a number of marketing agencies and representative of the company TUI AG, Switzerland in Greece and Egypt.

Davor Petrović, Head of Translators and Quality Assurance

Davor graduated from the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana, qualifying as an English language teacher. As translation work was his chief area of interest during his studies, his BA thesis centred on analysing part of the legal terminology in the Evrokorpus and Evroterm translation corpora. He graduated with distinction and his thesis won the Faculty Prešeren Award. At Alkemist he ensures translation quality and coordinates the work with translators and clients.

Eva Majdič, Translation Project Manager

Eva acquired her academic skills in her translation studies at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana. After graduation she focused on doing translation work for a TV company and now she is combining her linguistic skills with coordination of international translation projects at Alkemist, where she is in charge of project quality and timely delivery to clients.

Maja Jazbec, Translation Project Manager

Maja studied ethnology and anthropology at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana. She already gained much experience in organising and managing projects as a student, collaborating on many projects, chiefly in the area of volunteer work and intercultural dialogue. She was later employed with a publishing company, as project manager in charge of organisation and coordination of numerous projects in the fields of design and architecture. She also helped organise conferences and events and coordinated the work of individual colleagues and departments. It was this experience that brought her to Alkemist where she is in charge of the coordination and successful execution of both domestic and foreign translation projects.

Miha Knavs, Translation Project Manager

Miha broadened his knowledge of the Slovenian language with a course in Slovenian language studies at the Faculty of Education in Maribor. During his studies he joined a research team at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences, where he collaborated on the LC-STAR international project which involved systematising a corpus for automatic machine speech recognition, where Miha prepared Slovenian language resources. During this time, he was also involved in managing and organising projects at the national and international level and completed a three-year international training course in team management and quantitative research. His responsibilities at Alkemist are the assurance of correct language use and management of translation projects.

Petra Prijanovič, Public Relations, Marketing

After graduating from the Faculty of Business and Economics in Maribor, Petra continued her studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences with a course in marketing and market communications. Her skills in marketing, advertising and public relations increased through various international congresses and festivals both at home and abroad (CERP, Golden Drum, Sempl, Magdalena, Aiesec).
She expanded her work experience as an assistant in a market research company, worked as a project manager with a free-of-charge medium and marketed advertising space for an Internet search engine.
While foreign languages and international business operations have always accompanied her work, she is now a vital connecting link between the Alkemist Translation Agency and its translators, the media and the business community at large.

Unfortunately, there is too little room for us to present the entire team of the Alkemist Translation Agency.

To our translators, lecturers, professors, designers...
we thank you for simply being the best at what you do!
