Meet the team

Ema Bonifačić
Ema Bonifačić
Ema first came to the Zagreb office in 2019 as a student, during her postgraduate student practice. The enthusiasm of the whole team and the exciting challenges of being a project manager won her over and she returned to Alkemist immediately after earning her master’s degree in English and Comparative literature from the University of Zagreb. Her future plans so far include improving her knowledge of Italian and German, which she has ardently expanded on each summer while working in various jobs in tourism … as soon as she catches a break from reading yet another beloved book.
Vanja Stupar
Vanja Stupar
Vanja joined Alkemist’s Belgrade team as Account Manager in 2021 after more than six years of experience working in customer-facing roles. She started her career with the national airline of Serbia, where she had a chance to meet and work with people from all around the world and discovered her ability to get the best out of situations. Alkemist turned out to be the perfect choice to combine her experience with the translation workflow and her interest in foreign languages. Vanja likes making people feel comfortable in her presence and finds this skill especially helpful when kicking off projects with new clients. Art is her hidden passion. This helps her find something beautiful in everything, even the working environment, which with her becomes creative and interesting. Her previous experience in working with clients, together with a positive attitude, kindness and problem-solving skills, make her a great Account Manager for Alkemist.
Michaela Zoubková
Michaela Zoubková
Michaela currently holds two positions at Alkemist. Not only does she perform the role of the Business Developer for the Czech Republic, but she also acts as the Vendor Manager for all European offices.
The role of the BD is very complex, but also very fulfilling. The Alkemist agency is known for its professionalism and speed, so the BD must also be very professional and quick, show excellent judgment, and boast exceptional negotiating skills. Together with the owners, the BD defines the path to be followed by the company, selects the members of its team, determines the tone to be taken in communication with clients, and takes part in other important activities.
The role of the VM is also very important for the company because the VM scouts, selects, and tests translators and proofreaders before finding the perfect role for them in the complex services provided by the agency. No quality translation agency can operate without professional translators and proofreaders that are truly great at their jobs.
Before Michaela became a part of the Alkemist team, she worked in various departments (finance, IT) at smaller companies, where she had a chance to try her hand at a number of different activities. As those companies grew, she became more and more involved in activities associated with the Croatian speaking community. She built both smaller and bigger teams, in addition to which she often carried out negotiations with business partners and negotiated project terms. That’s why this combination of two roles is the right choice for her, and her skills and the work she puts in are a great contribution to Alkemist’s success.

After finishing her studies in English and Spanish at the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana, and returning from a student exchange in Spain, Teja's career path led her to the MICE industry, where she helped organise numerous domestic and international events. She decided to return to her roots after three years and joined the Alkemist team in Ljubljana as a project manager in 2021. The role of a project manager fits her like a glove, as it combines two of her favourite fields – organisation and linguistics. She gladly faces any challenge and never stops until all the client’s requirements are met. By baking delicious desserts, Teja also makes sure that we never really get a “summer body” (which we don't really hold against her).
