Meet the team

After enrolling in her final year of General Linguistics studies at the Faculty of Philology, University of Belgrade, led by her love of the Italian language, Lola studied economics at the University of Trieste, where she mastered the language and also gained extensive knowledge in the field of finance, making the most of it. Apart from Italian, she speaks English very well. Although still at the beginning of her career, Lola shows a great sense of relations with people and business organization. In Alkemist, she found a way to combine her love of linguistics and economics.
In her free time, she likes to read, as reading takes her to many places around the world – even to Joyce's Dublin.

Ema first came to the Zagreb office in 2019 as a student, during her postgraduate student practice. The enthusiasm of the whole team and the exciting challenges of being a project manager won her over and she returned to Alkemist immediately after earning her master’s degree in English and Comparative literature from the University of Zagreb. Her future plans so far include improving her knowledge of Italian and German, which she has ardently expanded on each summer while working in various jobs in tourism … as soon as she catches a break from reading yet another beloved book.

Vanja joined Alkemist’s Belgrade team as Account Manager in 2021 after more than six years of experience working in customer-facing roles. She started her career with the national airline of Serbia, where she had a chance to meet and work with people from all around the world and discovered her ability to get the best out of situations. Alkemist turned out to be the perfect choice to combine her experience with the translation workflow and her interest in foreign languages. Vanja likes making people feel comfortable in her presence and finds this skill especially helpful when kicking off projects with new clients. Art is her hidden passion. This helps her find something beautiful in everything, even the working environment, which with her becomes creative and interesting. Her previous experience in working with clients, together with a positive attitude, kindness and problem-solving skills, make her a great Account Manager for Alkemist.

After finishing her studies in English and Spanish at the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana, and returning from a student exchange in Spain, Teja's career path led her to the MICE industry, where she helped organise numerous domestic and international events. She decided to return to her roots after three years and joined the Alkemist team in Ljubljana as a project manager in 2021. The role of a project manager fits her like a glove, as it combines two of her favourite fields – organisation and linguistics. She gladly faces any challenge and never stops until all the client’s requirements are met. By baking delicious desserts, Teja also makes sure that we never really get a “summer body” (which we don't really hold against her).

Nina's enthusiasm for foreign languages and cultures led her to English and French Translation Studies, during which she gained theoretical knowledge as well as practical experience as a translator and traveller, visiting numerous European countries. After finishing her studies, she tested herself in organisational waters and then finally found her way to our office as an experienced translator and project manager. Now she watches over the quality and smooth operation of translation processes, as well as making sure that your user experience is even better than usual.

Slađana Ćetojević joined the Alkemist team in 2017 and has been ensuring customer satisfaction ever since. Due to her love of working with people, she enrolled at the College of Tourism Portorož, where she honed her communication and organisation skills. With new expertise and energy, she initially excelled in the role of a Business Developer, in which she was responsible for preparing offers and orders, communicating with clients and project managers, as well as acquiring new clients. Thanks to her committed work and proven skills, she was promoted in September 2021 and is now the Business and Sales Manager at the Alkemist Ljubljana Office. Slađana likes facing new challenges in everyday situations and communicating with clients, who trust and enjoy working with her due to her positivity.

Igor Gorse is an expert in the technical implementation of simultaneous interpreting. He has been interested in technology, precision engineering and electronics since childhood. The former police officer is now exactly where he wants to be – surrounded by wires and various pieces of equipment. Igor takes care of the technical support at all of our interpreting events and helps our clients with technical issues and any other related questions.

After finishing her studies in French and English language and literature and honing her skills at the Directorate-General for Translation of the European Commission, Maja started her career as a translator, with a particular preference for translating EU-related texts. However, she was soon ready for new challenges and joined Alkemist's Zagreb team in 2018 with great enthusiasm as a project manager. She enjoys her work as it provides her with the opportunity to demonstrate her organization skills on a daily basis, and her favourite part is finding new ways of going above and beyond for her clients. Besides her main role, she also contributes to the positive atmosphere in the office with a constant flow of witty comments.

In May of 2015, Zagreb's office expanded its team and opened the new position of Back office support. On this occasion, Nina Andrijata joined our team and with her many years of experience in accounting, she significantly contributes to the organization of the administrative part of the work of the translation agency. And while everyone gets annoyed with administration and paperwork, our Nina enjoys it and she is looking forward to every new challenge/task, to enter it into one of her million Excel files. Yes, that's right, our Nina is a real Excel addict :). And since we in Alkemist believe that every individual has the right to show their full potential and be rewarded for their contribution to the team, Nina was promoted to the position of Head of finance of the Alkemist Group in September of 2017.

Anamarija joined Alkemist's Zagreb team in 2019, after finishing her studies in Spanish and Dutch language and literature and years of work in different fields of the lanugage industry fields. Her love for languages, translation, organisation, quality assurance and constant learning all come together in her role as a project manager. Witnessing happy clients and associates after a job well done is what she finds the most rewarding in her everyday office life. After a day at work, the chances are great that she is watching yet another crime movie, otherwise you might just as well run into her in one of the ballet or yoga studios.

In September 2021, Marija assumed the role of the International Sales Director at Alkemist, which entails the commercial management of all our offices. She is distinguished by her rich experience and the top sales results that she achieved as a Business Developer at Alkemist before becoming International Sales Director. As a Business Developer, she excelled in acquiring new clients, managing the existing key accounts, leading the onboarding of new employees in the sales department, and introducing innovative approaches to negotiation and sales. During her ten-year career at Alkemist, Marija also successfully collaborated in the establishment of the value chain for the purpose of improving key account management, optimizing business results and raising awareness of our company. She is very proud of her excellent collaboration with numerous major companies in the automotive, tobacco, pharmaceutical, banking and technology industries.

Lea joined the Zagreb team in 2017 after working in the sales and translation industry. As a project manager in Alkemist, she united her organisational skills with her passion for languages, translation and working with people. Understanding the client’s needs, managing project timelines and performing translation quality checks are some of her main responsibilities. She holds a master’s degree in English and Portuguese from the University of Zagreb, and spent a semester studying at the University of Porto in Portugal. In addition to English and Portuguese, Lea learned German, Spanish and French in the course of her education, but is planning on expanding that list in the future.

Marija started her career in Alkemist in 2006 as an office manager. She worked on the establishing and strategic development of the business of Alkemist on the territory of the Republic of Serbia. With her knowledge, patience and previously gained experience in the field of marketing and organization, relying on a meticulously selected and constantly growing team, Marija has succeeded in promoting Alkemist from a start-up company to what it is today – a synonym for high-quality and professional service.
Marija became a director of Alkemist Belgrade in the year 2016, and since 2017, she has been in the position of the director of Alkemist Prague. She graduated from the Faculty of Organizational Sciences at the University of Belgrade.
